Andrew Cubie is a Consultant to Fyfe Ireland LLP. He has been variously Chairman and Senior Partner of that firm having specialised in Corporate Law. Engaged with educational issues throughout his career, he is currently chairman of the Court of Napier University, the Scottish Credit and Qualificiation Framework and Chairman of the Committee of University Chairmen of the UK. He was Convenor of the Independent Committee of inquiry into Student Finance in Scotland (“the Cubie Committee”) which brought about the abolition of tuition fees in Scotland. He is a former Chairman of the Confederation of British Industry in Scotland. He is the Chairman of Quality Scotland, an organisation committed to business excellence, a member of the Management Board of HMIE and Vice Chairman of the Northern Lighthouse Board. He is a director of a number of public and private companies including ESPC UK Ltd.
