Robert Pirrie was appointed Chief Executive of The WS Society in 2005. Robert is a former corporate partner of both Dundas & Wilson and Maclay Murray & Spens where he specialised in private equity work after starting his career in commercial property. He qualified as a solicitor in 1981. As Chief Executive, Robert is charged with restructuring and modernising the Society and its services. In 2007, the Society’s overhauled its constitution, including the introduction of membership for younger lawyers. The Society is developing its support services for law firms and others. Robert is also involved in launching The Signet Accreditation, the groundbreaking programme to accredit Scottish lawyers in specific practice areas.
